Funny Scenes From Santa Clarita Diet
Brilliant
I saw this show advertised and thought it may be OK to fill a gap if there was nothing much else on to watch.
The first episode was good, so I watched the second, then the third, and couldn't stop watching it as each episode got better and better as the characters developed.
Each and every performance in this comedy is brilliant, from the most minor of supporting roles to the lead cast.
I really didn't have high expectations, but this comedy is HILARIOUS

WTF Netflix!
So mad they cancelled this excellent comedy. The actors were so charming and funny, especially Oliphant! He cracked me up every time I saw his tense smiling face! The concept was fresh and I love zombie flicks. Rare a comedy makes me laugh out loud so often, and guaranteed in each episode. So bummed. I want it back already. Bring it back!

Unexpectedly Hilarious
My first thought when watching this show was that it was a combination of DEXTER, THE WALKING DEAD, and DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES. The first episodes were good, but I couldn't really imagine how it would sustain. Then the plot twists came, and it just got better and better.
Some of the bit are so gross they are hilarious. I'm laughing even though I can barely look. But it's comedy we need these days.
Great cast for a funny show that doesn't take itself too seriously, but simply provides clever get-away-from-it-all content.
I really hope the show continues. Great job.

Think Desperate Housewives meets Weeds Meets Dexter
I don't usually like comedies but this one was so deliciously dark that I found it more then a little amusing. Barrymore and Olyphant have great chemistry and are believable as a long married wife and husband. The actress who plays their teenage daughter is great as well because she isn't on either end of the annoying teenager on TV scale. Instead she reacts convincingly like you would believe a teenager would in (an admittingly) an unusual situation like she finds herself in.
Of course this show won't be to everyones....uhhh appetite. It plays murder and cannibalism for laughs and those with a weak stomach and ears that bleed at cussing will get turned away pretty quickly. However this is a genuinely sweet and funny comedy about what it means to be a family and the lengths people will go to protect the lives and loves they have.

Great Show
I read the crap one star review and felt compelled to write my own simply because it could not be more wrong.
Note to reviewers: actually watch the whole show. Clearly that reviewer watched one or two episodes although I suspect even less than that.
Comparatively the first few episodes are not as good as those that follow but I think that is because they are really setting up the story and establishing the characters.
There are so many funny moments which mostly arise from situations going from bad to worse. I found the show quite compelling and very entertaining. YMMV.
No way is this show one star. No way.

Whoever canceled this should be fired
Fun and enjoyable show that didn't take itself serious and netflix buckled under the pressure again, because god forbid you keep a good show.

Another Netflix Great Sent To An Early Grave
Uniquely written, created and acted. I love Drew Barrymore for a stater she is my thinking man's crush.
I don't do zombie films or series or vampire crap it's not my scene but this caught my eye a few years ago with the funny catchy trailers on Netflix. I was hooked did the 1 St series in one sitting and as the others came out the same. Then I find out that yet again Netflix have binned it, no real ending in fact last time leaves us on a cliff edge.
Netflix is great and some shows are better suited to others than some other obviously but it's not like SCD didn't have a cult following it does.
Very bad boy Netflix

Hilarious and Fantastic
One of the best zombie shows ever. Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant are absolutely fantastic as the main characters. With Timothy playing the hapless human husband and drew the sensible yet spontaneous zombie. Their humor and acting styles go so well together, it makes for the perfect romance. The chemistry between the main cast as a whole makes this show, even the two kids have amazing chemistry as friends on the brink of more. Every episode is just hilarious, as they try to navigate keeping drew from the real world but yet keeping her well fed. And the whole mess is just fantastic. A real shame Netflix cancelled on such a cliffhanger.

Love Bites ... and I want so much more.
This show keeps getting better and better.
Season 1 was good; Season 2, better; then in the middle of binging Season 3, I realized my cheeks literally hurt from smiling so much. I have never seen or liked Timothy Olyphant or Drew Barrymore more than I do so in this. Everything just comes together - writing, directing, acting - to form a lovable, hilarious romp that's so very gratifying to watch. LOVE it.

Netflix we Need a Santa Clarita Diet Season 4!!
Warning: Spoilers
I never really write IMDB reviews but I wanted to for this show because I am so disappointed that it was cancelled the way that it was.. The fans need to see Joel's transformation, The further progression of Abby and Eric's relationship, and at least let them graduate!! I also want Lisa (Eric's mom) to find love. There needs to be at least 1 more season to wrap it all up at least if not more, so the fans like myself can be at peace !! ALL the actors & supporting actors are great. !! Not just Drew.. Especially (Joel) Timothy Olyphant who is always good & (Eric) Skyler Gisondo's facial expressions are priceless lol The writing is great, it's a simple comedy and strangely it teaches about family values. You also end up actually caring about the characters and how they are dealing with the undead aspect. All while Drew bites people's necks as she goes for their jugular. Sometimes the show can be a little over the top like the character Gary's head in a vase thing but in a strange way it all works.

Drew Bury-more
Given that Netflix have confirmed the cancellation of "Santa Clarita Diet" now would seem to be a good time to review the admittedly lightweight, but enjoyable three seasons we have had.
Shelia and Joel Hammond (Drew Barrymore and Timothy Oliphant) are real estate agents whose lives are forever changed when Shelia dies and returns as a cogent, loving, wraith with an insatiable taste for human flesh. Though naturally horrified, Joel, is forever in love with his high school sweetheart and together with their daughter Abby (Liv Hewson), attempt to work through the pitfalls of a high risk, high protein, lifestyle.
As I previously said, "Santa Clarita Diet" is quite a lightweight show - it's not far away from being a gentle network comedy, like "Modern Family" say. But it does require a bit of getting used to, as it tonally is definately its own thing. The observation comedy is mixed with some extreme gore whenever Sheila takes another victim; it is definitely not family friendly in those instances. (The swearing too excludes the show from family viewing). The performances from the leads takes a little getting used to too. They are very stagey and knowing, Liv Hewson in particular looks like she's stifling back laughter in almost every take.
All that said, once I'd got used to all of the above, I was enjoying "SCD". It was consistently funny without resorting to catchphrases or returning beats. The chemistry with between Barrymore and Oliphant is engaging and oddly realistic, despite the absurdity of the shows overall premise and both Abby and neighbour Eric (Skyler Gisondo) are likable despite their know-all and nerd tropes. I suspect that 30 episodes is probably about the right amount to end a show like this before it starts repeating itself, however, it would have been nice if the show had been able to reach a more naturally climax rather than ending on a bit of a cliffhanger. Maybe Netflix will allow them one more episode to find that more complete ending, we'll see.

Binge watched season one in record time
I avoided all mention of this series prior to watching and I'm so glad I did. The result was a shock and awe of brilliantly original humor that had me rolling.
Season one went by in a flash. I had to hold off on watching episodes so I wouldn't use them up so quickly. It was that good.
The writing, directing and acting were all top notch and certainly award worthy. For me, Timothy Olyphant carried the show with a bunch of very high quality supporting actor performances rounding it all out. I will say though that I wish they chose someone other than Drew Barrymore for the co-lead. It was just very awkward watching her stumble and bumble through the crisply written scenes. Second to Olyphant and worth a special mention was Skyler Gisondo's performance. His lines and delivery accounted for some of the funniest moments by far.
I can't wait for season two.

fun couple and family
Joel (Timothy Olyphant) and Sheila Hammond (Drew Barrymore) are a suburban real estate agent couple in Santa Clarita, California with teenage daughter Abby (Liv Hewson). They are keeping up with the Joneses until Sheila turns into a zombie and starts eating the Joneses. Neighbor Eric Bemis (Skyler Gisondo) has a crush on Abby and is full of zombie knowledge. There are clams, spider-balls, and Serbians.
I really like this show and its sarcastic sense of humor. I love this family. I love the characters. Olyphant and Barrymore have an enjoyable chemistry. I like the zombie concept and its ridiculous side. It's a fun show. Netflix cancelled after three seasons. We will never know if this was popular but it is good.

literal biting satire
Suburban gothic gets another spin with "Santa Clarita Diet". The contrast between the supposedly nice setting and the black comedy - complete with rapid-fire dialogue - is sure to shock anyone. You're sure to love it, but be warned: the gruesome scenes rival those of "Game of Thrones" and "The Walking Dead".

Hilarious
I wasn't a fan of the pilot episode. I felt that it was weird and off. But then I decided to watch the next episodes, and I got hooked because it became better and better. Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant have a great chemistry, and I also love Liv Hewson playing their only kid. Mary Elizabeth Ellis is clearly the funniest as their neighbor Liz.
The third season is the best, which is why I got disappointed when I found out that there will be no more fourth season. Why, Netflix, why? I was really looking forward to the next season then...surprise...it's cancelled. Really?

GODDAMNIT
I wish Amazon could buy all these cancelled show and renew them. Honestly I have no idea how this show is this much overlooked and underrated. There's a lot of crap shows on Netflix that gains lots of attention but gems like this gets overlooked and they get cancelled unfairly. I know the views might not be that amazing but this is the frickings Netflix for god's sake they budget every idea and stories they get so I don't think they're gonna go bankrupt because of this show. Hey Jeff Bezos, sir If you're reading this please loosen your pocket a little and buy this show and also Ash vs Evil Dead and renew the sht out of them

Great show, one of the best but don't bother..
Warning: Spoilers
It's funny, fresh, well casted and really entertaining, but honestly, don't waste your time.. They've cancelled the show with no final, it just ends as it appears to be getting even better.. You'll love the seasons but be as frustrated as everyone else that it's ended without any conclusion or final.. What a waste.

Please, do NOT cancel this show!
For anyone who's followed the show for the past 3 seasons, I do not need to even explain why this show is way too good to be cancelled at this point. Meanwhile, other shows with not even half the talent and script continue on air. I hope this decision gets reconsidered, the show and it's cast as well as fans deserve better than this. I am thouroughly dissapointed.

Love this dark comedy show!
Fun to binge and a little ridiculous yet very entertaining! It's a great story with a solid cast although I think it has some over-acting otherwise I'd give it a 10.
